The BL20R is an improved and stripped down version of mid-1960's black panel style American tone. With its 20 watts of power, it's a great club and rehearsal amp and can be miced up for larger venues. This amplifier produces a smooth and dynamic sound characterized by sparkling cleans. BUT unique to the Judge BL lineup, you can achieve a warm scooped midrange when the mid is turned down and a dirtier, flatter, more "tweed" sound with the mid control is turned up. The BL line has a touch of fat tube-driven breakup when pushed. The built-in tube driven reverb adds depth and character, providing lush ambiance, from a little to a lot.
